Welcome to Ravenswood State School online. Here you will find access to the latest news, school calendar and stories and reports about our students learning. Students are the main ingredient in a successful educational process, and we actively work with parents and community to help Ravenswood State School be the best learning environment it can be for our students.
Ravenswood State School is a place for students to learn, grow and become safe, respectful and responsible learners. We foster values of respect, excellence, accountability and productive relationships. This is achieved by a constant focus on positive reinforcement of good behaviour through our ticket system and weekly presentation of student awards.
Students from Prep year to Grade 7 all receive instruction in one classroom. This is achieved through application of a variety of teaching methods, including direct instruction, group-based problem solving, 1:1 support with adults, small group instruction and indidivudal assigned tasks. Students receive a personalised and differentiated curriculum tailored to suit their learning styles and need. It is these methods that make Ravenswood such a productive small school.
Ravenswood State School is located in the historic gold mining town of Ravenswood, just over an hour from Townsville, Queensland. The school has 20 students, most of whom come from families with generational links within the town. This close-knit community is supported by a hard working Parents and Citizens Assocation (P&C) who constantly develop ways to raise funds to support effective learning for students.
